AEA Trains Beneficiaries of FCT Cash Transfer on Entrepreneurship

Ahead of disbursement of grants to beneficiaries of the FCT-CARES Programme of the Cash Transfer Unit, at least 100 would be beneficiaries from across the six Area Councils undergo Entrepreneurial Training organized by the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA).

The training was conducted at the headquarters of the Abuja Enterprise Agency, Mabushi District, Abuja, Wednesday.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, the Permanent Secretary, FCTA Common Services, Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwookere, said the programme was
aimed at empowering cash transfer beneficiaries with entrepreneurial skills to bolster their businesses and safeguard against losses or misapplication of the funds when eventually paid.

The Permanent Secretary, who was represented at the occasion by AEA’s Ag. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe, explained the pivotal role which entrepreneurship education plays in fostering sustainable business growth.

Oluwookere urged the participants to take advantage of the entrepreneurship course to enhance their enterprises.

In his part, the AEA’s Ag. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe expressed the agency’s commitment to supporting building entrepreneurs in FCT by unlocking their full potential and driving economic development in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as demonstrated by the Minister of FCT, Chief Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.

His words: “What we will do going forward is to ensure that when this money comes, you put it into something that you are already doing that will bring more money.”

Also speaking at the event, Mr. Inuwa Mayo, the Operations Manager of Livelihood Cash Section of the Cash Transfer Unit commended the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to propel their businesses to greater heights.
