The Federal Capital Territory Administration has received a clearance of the Annual Report of the Auditor-General for the Federation from the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Certificate of Clearance, which was received on behalf of the FCT Administration by the FCT Director of Treasury Services, Zanna Hamza, was presented to the FCT Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusade Adesola, in his office, Friday.

Accordingly, the Certificate of Clearance connotes that the Public Accounts Committee of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is satisfied with the response/defense to the queries raised in the Report and therefore, cleared of the queries for the year ended 2017.

Receiving the Certificate, the FCT Permanent Secretary appreciated the clearance and commended the Senate for initiating this wonderful idea of presentation of certificate of clearance.

Adesola charged the Treasury staff to continue to be prudent and hardworking as well as ensure that Financial Regulations are sternly followed to the latter.

Abuja Digest reports that this clearance certificate issued by the Department of Public Accounts of the Senate follows the consideration of all the defense tendered by the FCTA over issues regarding possible discrepancies observed by the Auditor-General of the Federation in 2017.
