Chief of Staff Charges Information Officers On Reportage Of FCTA Activities

The Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Chidi Amadi, has charged Information Officers in the services of the FCT Administration to step up on information dissemination on the activities of the FCTA under the leadership of the Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Amadi said Information Officers have a critical role in promoting the laudable policies and achievements of the Wike led administration by taking ownership of the administration’s communication strategy to ensure that its achievements are sufficiently promoted.

The Chief of Staff gave the charge during a meeting with the management team of the Information and Communication Department on Tuesday in his officein Abuja.

He emphasized the importance of every Information Officer getting involved in reviewing and projecting the FCTA’s programmes and policies.

He highlighted the administration’s achievements under the leadership of Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike; citing significant improvements in road construction, education, transportation, and healthcare, particularly primary healthcare.

The Chief of Staff noted that Wike’s administration has brought about massive infrastructural development, transforming the FCT’s landscape; saying that aside infrastructure, the Administration has done a great work in the area of education as well as the transportation sector.

He urged Information Officers to engage residents more effectively by communicating other key aspects of the administration’s achievements to the  public.

Responding, Director of Information and Communication, Muhammad Hazat Sule, assured the Chief of Staff that the Department has crop of professionals that are capable and committed in  discharging their responsibilities, if  given necessary tools.

Sule emphasised that the Information Officers are professionals, who will continue to do their best in projecting the image of the FCT Administration as well as loyal to the government. 

He pleaded with the Chief of Staff to help resolve cases of stagnation affecting some senior officers of the Department, who are due for promotion to the rank of Director.

Some of the Key Achievements of Wike’s Administration include significant improvements in road infrastructure in the city centre, satellite towns, and rural areas resulting in completion of road projects abandoned by previous governments.

Others are notable progress in the education sector, enhancements in transportation systems, improvement in the primary healthcare services, andimproved security of lives and property in and around the FCT.
