FCTA Eases Vehicle Registration Process

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has enjoined residents of the Territory, particularly motoring public to continue to utilise the online Registration Platform as it was meant to ease the processing of their Vehicle related transactions.
The Director, FCT Directorate Of Road Traffic Services (DRTS), Dr. Bello Abdul-Lateef, made this call, while speaking with Abuja Digest, in his office.
The Director said that even though the Vehicle related transactions of the Directorate was automated in Abuja in 2010, the Self Self Service Portal became operational and available to the Public in March, 2023 to further improve service delivery.
The Director explained that that the idea behind the introduction of the Self Service Portal was to make Vehicle registration process convenient and accessible in line with the Federal Government Policy on the Ease Of Doing Business.
Dr. Abdul-Lateef said that the process has reduced the menace of middle men, thereby, creating an enabling environment for the acquisition of Vehicle documents.
Other advantages of online registration according to him, includes removal of administrative bottleneck, removal of touts, opportunity of paying the exact amount and also provides home delivery options.
The Director urged residents to shun middle men and embrace the Online platform for ease of access as the the new FCT Administration is poised to deliver on dividends of Democracy, in consonance with the ‘Renewed Hope’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially in the area of Public Transportation.
He advised residents and visitors to the Federal Capital Territory to avoid fake Vehicle documents, follow DRTS Social Media handles for timely and relevant information on transport issue; and adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.

The ICT Head said that the Directorate has recorded over a 100 Thousand online registration with zero complaints from members of the public.
