In a striking blend of administrative showcase and political reconciliation, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has announced an unprecedented 31-day marathon of project commissionings across the FCT.

This is as he simultaneously declaring a total amnesty for his political adversaries in Rivers State.

Speaking during the luncheon of his Rainbow Coalition for candidates for the 2027 general election in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday, 30  May, 2026, Wike framed the infrastructural blitz in the Federal Capital Territory as a testament to purposeful leadership, directly challenging critics to match its scale.

“This third year of Mr. President alone… we are taking 31 days for commissioning of projects in Abuja. I’m not talking about boreholes. I challenge anybody,” he stated.

The Minister revealed that the month-long circuit will feature major road networks, public utilities, and large-scale urban renewal projects, attributing the progress to the strategic backing of the President. “The rapid infrastructural development unfolding under my watch is a direct testament to purposeful leadership,” Wike emphasized.

Referring to the volatile political landscape of his home state, the former Rivers Governor extended an unexpected olive branch, offering a blanket pardon to all opponents.

“I use this opportunity today, the platform… I have forgiven everybody,” he declared, urging estranged allies and adversaries to abandon divisive tactics. “I want you to come back home sincerely… We have played politics, we have abused ourselves, this is the right time for you to come back.”

Despite this reconciliatory tone, Wike issued a stark warning to external actors against exploiting federal allocations to destabilize Rivers State.

“Anybody from another state who is trying to destroy Rivers State, the person will have problems… You put your hand, you get fire,” he stated, asserting the invincibility of his political coalition.

He dismissed any prospects of an electoral upset, noting, “If you are talking about governorship election in this state, forget it, it’s gone… If you are thinking that any miracle will happen to overturn, to pull the rug off us, it’s a lie.”

Reassuring supporters of his coalition’s dominance, Wike added, “We are very over-alert anytime, any day. We’ll take you back, we’ll work with everybody. We are not selfish.”

The Minister contrasted the festive and secure state of his political machinery with the internal crises plaguing other states within both the PDP and APC, positioning it as poised for dominance for years to come.
