Wike Approves N449M For Deceased Staff Group Life Insurance

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has approved the payment of N449 million for Group Life Insurance claims to 118 next of kin of deceased staff of the FCTA.

The Director, FCT Pension Department, Mr. Rotimi Ajayi, made this revelation, while speaking to Abuja Digest in his office in Area 3, Garki I District, Abuja, Friday.

The Director said the Minister has prioritized the welfare of the FCTA staff, retirees as well as the beneficiaries of the deceased staff.

According to him, ‘’the Minister on assumption of duty has approved over N893 million for the payment of the Group Life Insurance Claims to 226 deceased staff families.

He, therefore, reassured the next of kin of deceased staff that are yet to receive their Group Life Insurance Claims, will soon receive their payments, because it’s a priority of the Minister.

While commending the Minister for his magnanimity, Ajayi said that many have already been paid and the policy is a continuous one.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Sule Bako, who has received his claim after losing his wife, appreciated the Minister’s gesture for the payment; adding that the money would go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the dependents of the deceased.
