Wike Assures Timely Completion Of Naharati River Road Project

The Federal Capital Territory Administration will ensure timely completion of Naharati River Road Project in consonance with the Principles of ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration.

FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, gave this assurance when inspecting the Naharati River Road Project in Abaji Area Council, Wednesday.

The Minister said that the construction of the Naharati River- Ukya to Unguwan Housawa Road in Abaji Area Council is being undertaken to improve the quality of life of the people around the locality; saying that ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ is real.

He explained that connecting the communities would enhance movement of agricultural produce from farms to the market thereby ensuring food security in the FCT, as well as improving livelihoods.

According to him, the 5km road project was awarded this year and the work progressively progressing rapidly.

Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and assured residents that the road will be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The Minister stated that the Administration is committed to making life easier for Nigerians.

He urged the contractor to speed up the work; advising residents to be patient with the administration’s efforts.

Wike enjoined the residents not to join the Nationwide protest; saying “protest is not the solution as it leads to distraction and destruction.”

He emphasized that “FCT is for unity, and we should embrace peace, not protest.”

The Minister was accompanied on the visit by the Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud and the Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD), Abdulkadir Zulkiflu among others.
