AMUSAN TARGETS ANOTHER BIG WIN AT PARIS DIAMOND LEAGUE

Tobi Amusan will be back on the track this Friday as she races in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Meeting de Paris.
This will be Amusan’s fourth Diamond League appearance of the season. She started the year with two fourth-place finishes, running 12.74 seconds in Xiamen and 12.66 seconds in Shaoxing. But she bounced back strongly last month in Rabat, where she set a season-best time of 12.45 seconds to win the race and break the meet record.
The Nigerian star, who holds the world record and was world champion in 2022, will face tough competition in Paris. The line-up includes world medallist Keni Harrison, Jamaican rising star Ackera Nugent, Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska, Dutch champion Nadine Visser, Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, and current Diamond League leader Grace Stark from the United States.
Amusan is currently fourth in the overall Diamond League standings with 10 points. She trails behind Grace Stark with 23 points, Danielle Williams with 15, and Marione Fourie with 12. With the race to qualify for the Diamond League finals in Zurich heating up, Amusan will be looking to close the gap.
She last competed at the Racers Grand Prix in the women’s 100m, where she ran a solid 11.18 seconds to finish fourth behind top sprinters Tina Clayton, Jacious Sears, and Alana Reid.
Known for improving as the season goes on, Amusan will aim to better her season-best time in Paris. With her strong experience and rising form, she has a good chance of claiming another big win as she builds momentum ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo later this summer.
