WIKE’S FCT PROJECTS: A VISIBLE SCORECARD FOR MR PRESIDENT

The newly inaugurated FCT Coordinator of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), Comrade Donald Amagbo, has said the transformation of the Federal Capital Territory under Minister Nyesom Wike has provided the Tinubu administration with a strong development record ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Amagbo, who spoke with journalists shortly after the inauguration of the FCT chapter of the group in Wuse 2, Abuja, on September 17, 2026, said the extensive road construction, street lighting, drainage systems and other urban renewal projects across the Territory were visible evidence of the administration’s impact.

He particularly commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Wike as FCT Minister, saying the minister’s approach to infrastructure development had significantly changed the physical landscape of the nation’s capital.

“First of all, I wish to praise the wisdom of our father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for bringing Ezenwo Nyesom Wike to the FCT, and I am sure you can see for yourself what the President has supported him to do in the FCT.

“The infrastructural turnaround is unprecedented, and I am sure FCT residents, not only those who live in the urban areas, but particularly those in the rural areas, can enjoy, for the first time, what those in the city have been enjoying since the Territory was created 50 years ago,” Amagbo said.

According to him, the development projects undertaken across the FCT have extended infrastructure beyond the city centre, with road networks and associated facilities reaching communities outside the core urban districts.

He said the projects had created what he described as a visible scorecard for the Tinubu administration, which the group intends to present to residents as part of its campaign for continuity.

“His performance in the FCT has given us a scorecard with which to campaign for the President’s second term in office. Residents will surely identify with the good road networks with street lights and drainages. That is the kind of fixing we are talking about,” he said.

Amagbo also highlighted the transformation of major entry points and landmarks in Abuja, citing the City Gate as an example of the physical changes taking place in the Territory.

“For example, see how the City Gate is looking… like another London. So we in the FCT are happy that we are benefiting from the dividends of Mr. President,” he said.

He described Wike as a “working Minister” and said residents across the Territory could see the impact of the administration’s infrastructure programme.

The RTIFN coordinator said the group would use the projects in the FCT as part of its grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 presidential election. He said the organization would mobilize residents across the six area councils — Abuja Municipal Area Council, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali, Abaji and Bwari.

The inauguration brought together officials and members of the movement, which is campaigning for the continuation of President Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking earlier, the group’s Director-General, Ahmed Bala, charged members to communicate the administration’s achievements to Nigerians with humility and compassion.

Bala said the group would engage youths and grassroots communities across the 36 states, arguing that the Tinubu administration needed more time to implement its economic and development agenda.

Also speaking, the group’s Deputy Director-General, Zack Orji, cited the removal of fuel subsidy, the establishment of regional development commissions and the implementation of financial autonomy for local governments among the administration’s major reforms.

He said increased allocations to subnational governments should translate into greater development at the state and local government levels, while urging citizens to demand accountability from their elected representatives.
