Ambassador Inger Ultvedt has underlined Sweden’s strong support to the humanitarian response in the North-East, the growing trade exchange with projects within FCT, the child’s right to education and energy as interesting examples, as well as the increased flow of Nigerian students to Sweden.
While serving in the country, His Excellency Ultvedt also gave her support to the fight against female genital mutilation, which she regarded as a violation of human rights, vowing to “fight until its complete eradication has been achieved.”
She spoke during a farewell visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja recently.
President Buhari on his part, commended Sweden for its support to efforts to quash insurgency in the North-East and restore full peace, and hoped to see Ambassador Ultvedt return to Nigeria in another capacity.
