DHE sensitizes 3,000 students on IEI

…as Director bows out of service

It was a remarkable general staff meeting of the Department of Higher Education, (DHE) as the Director of the Department Mr. Joseph Joshua Garba, marked his 60th birthday and 35 years in service recently.

In his speech, the retiring director thanked God for the opportunity to serve as a Director in DHE from 2016-2018. He said that he was confirmed as Director in 2018. He urged all staff to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Department.

Mr Garba who told the staff that the meeting was the last he would have with them as director and staff, mentioned some of his achievements in the department to include the relocation of their office from the former place to the present location, sensitization of over 3000 students of the 6 Area Councils, on Innovative Entrepreneur Institutions (IEI), amongst others.

He appealed for total support for Abuja University of Technology Abaji so that it would soon become a reality, adding that about 3000 people have applied for the positions of lecturers, Librarians and other positions.

He thereafter, handed over to the most senior Deputy Director in the Department; Mr. EzekielGimba and wished him well.

After so many goodwill messages from staff, the new acting Director Mr. Ezekiel Gimba, solicited the cooperation and support of all staff in order to achieve the mandate of the Department.
