Former Abuja Digest Newspaper Intern, Farouk Timilehin Oketaolegun (Timi), known simply by his stage name as ‘Twelve XII’ has finally pitched his tenth with music where his lifetime passion lies.

Twelve XII, 24, in an interview with reporters in Abuja on Thursday talked about his latest collaboration with Abuja based Tay Iwar in their latest works ‘Undercover Lover’ which has drawn a weekly listenership of 124,392 on the Music App Spotify. This, according to him, is the biggest of all his works since 20.

The R&B, Afro-Fusion and Alternative Pop Singer Songwriter is a 2020 (Lockdown) Graduate of Communication and Performing Arts from Bowen University in Osun State.

Twelve XII started frequenting the music studio owned by the Iwar brothers in Wuse in 2018 at a time he was on his internship in Abuja Digest Newspaper. His debut into Music came with ‘Write a Note’ which was also a collaboration with Sutê & Tay Iwar which has been streaming across several Social Media and Music platforms which started raising his profile.

According to Twelve XII, the release of Undercover Lover on Thursday May 11, 2023, which was played on BBC Radio One in the UK and several other radio Stations and Music Platforms sharply earned him a cumulative listenership fan base of over a 100,000.

Twelve XII is currently working on a double single called ‘Naked and Sublime’ which will be out soon with another hope of debuting his first Executive Production this year.

Asked if the Nigerian environment is conducive enough for him to operate. The Undercover Lover Hit track co-writer and performer said “the Nigerian Music Industry is blooming right now. It is growing at a wild exponential rate. We look at it all the time and we are amazed. Americans especially the foreign ends are adopting the Nigerian sounds.the international recognition is right now even hotter. Nigeria is a developing country just like the entertainment industry is as well developing.”
He said his dreadlocks hairdo is just a personal choice which is bound to change with time. Twelve says his music is self acceptance. You have to know yourself before you can analyze other people.
On what should be his advice to other talented boys on street yet to get the well deserved push, Twelve XII said ‘tenacity’ is the useful quality they should possess if they must move forward.
“No career in the world is easy. None.

You want to be a Doctor, a Lawyer, a Carpenter, a Painter, nothing is easy. That’s what I have realized in life.”
The upcoming R&B Star encouraged aspiring musicians to have faith and work hard.

Inspired by late Pop Star Micheal Jackson and Lagbaja of Africa, Twelve XII says his name is significantly more tied to his birthday which is on the 12th of November, 1998. His mum’s birthday is on August 12 just as he started making music at the age of 12 making 12 his lucky number.
