SERVICOM Director Calls For Improved Service Delivery

The Federal Capital Territory Ministerial Service Compact (SERVICOM) has charged Staff of the FCT Administration to work towards improved service delivery to the residents of the Territory.
Accordingly, such deliberate gesture will also go a long way in the full realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
The Director, FCT Ministerial SERVICOM Mrs. Funmilayo Christiana Kayode, made this call during a Step-down training organized for Fire Service Head of Units and Divisional Fire Officers (DFOs), at the FCT Fire Service Headquarters, Asokoro District, Abuja.
The Director said that the improved service delivery is in consonance with the principles of the SERVICOM, which by extension renewed the hope of the citizenry.
She enjoins the FCT workforce to desist from lateness to work, indolence and delay in acting on official matters which are capable of bringing about inefficiency in the service delivery.
According to her, this also conforms with the aspirations of the Civil Service Rules.
Kayode, who was represented by a Senior officer of organization, Mr. Abashe Dauda, emphasized that the vision of the FCT Administration is ultimately to build and deliver a World Class City, which can only be achieved by the commitment, doggedness and diligence of an excellent workforce.
Her words:”I believe this is achievable if we all embrace the culture of excellence, due diligence and responsibility in the discharge of our official responsibilities. The FCT Administration is poised to ensure quality services are being delivered to the residents. Thus, we must raise up, vehemently toward better achievements in our endeavours.”
The Director described the step-down training as transformational exercise and further considered it as an essential instrument that is capable of impacting positively to the staff of FCT for effective and quality service delivery.
Kayode used the opportunity to appreciate the FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, and the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, for their passionate effort toward elevating and improving the standard of services provided to the FCT residents.
She also commended the Director, FCT Fire Service, Engr. Zaccheus Amiola Adebayo, for the maximum support given to the Fire Services SERVICOM Unit and for sponsoring it’s Focal Officer to attend training in Enugu on improving Organizational Performance.
The Director enjoined the Head of Units, Divisional Fire Officers and all staff of FCT Fire Service to be unrelenting in their effort to protect lives and properties as well as promoting quality service to the residents of FCT.
Also speaking at the occasion, Director of FCT Fire Service, Engr. Zaccheus Amiola Adebayo, stressed the need to train and retrain staff for effective service in the areas of professionalism, timeliness, staff attitude and information sharing.
He commended SERVICOM for its contributions to the Fire Service SERVICOM, and Operations and training Unit.
