The Staff of the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department, (FEMD), have been tasked to keep abreast of modern work ethics and innovations in service.

The Acting Director-General, FEMD, Mrs. Florence Wenegieme, gave the charge, Tuesday, in Abuja while declaring open a capacity building programme for staff on grade levels 8-13.

Wenegieme explained that new policies and programmes have been introduced into the civil service and enjoined staff of FEMD to adapt.

Her words: “Training is important as a civil servant, you need to be up-to-date. New things are being introduced in the public service. You need to key in”.

She urged participants to take the training session seriously to improve on service delivery.

Also speaking at the event, the Acting Director of Administration Azeez Kadiri said the training was apt, because it would enable FEMD staff as public officers to recommit to the civil service.

He said professionalism, accountability, and transparency were hallmarks of effective service delivery.
