ASO RADIO/ TV BOSS LAUDS FCT DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION, SEEKS PARTNERSHIP

The Managing Director, Abuja Broadcasting Corporation, owners of Aso Radio and Television, Ibrahim Damisa, has commended the newly appointed Director of Information and Communication Department, FCT, Muhammad Hazat Sule, over what he described as great innovations he introduced in the dissemination of information on the policies, programmes and activities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

Damisa, stated this when he led the management of the Abuja Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), on a courtesy visit to the Department of Information and Communication, Tuesday, at his office, in Garki, Abuja.

He commended the Director on the far-reaching reforms he has brought to the Department, which is assisting in the timely and factual dissemination of information about the FCTA.

The Managing Director specifically lauded the rebranding of Abuja Digest Newspaper and the introduction of the Online version of the Newspaper as a worthy inclusion in the reportage of the programmes of the Administration.

Damisa said he was in the Department of Information and Communication to seek support and partnerships between his organization and the Department.

He further harped on the need for the department and Aso Radio/Television to work in synergy for the effective coverage of government activities.

He, therefore, solicited the Director’s understanding in the implementation of the FCT EXCO’s resolution, which emphasizes that all MDAs should patronage the services of Aso Radio /TV.

Damisa explained that Aso Radio and Television are owned and funded by FCTA, and it was established to cover the activities of the FCT Administration.

Given this, the Agency is working towards achieving the task and it will be completely unsuccessful if the department of Information and Communication, FCTA is not part of this effort.

The Managing Director (MD) used the opportunity to seek patronage from all the FCT Agencies in times of advertisements and announcements to enable the media station to succeed in delivering an effective and efficient service to the FCTA.

The MD also requested the cooperation and assistance of the Director to enable him to deploy more hands to cover FCTA’s events, especially the Offices of the Minister of State and the Permanent Secretary.

He disclosed that Aso Radio and Television is now on terrestrial broadcasting stations and other platforms such as Star Times, DSTV, and Arab Free TV in preparation to effectively cover the forthcoming 2022 Qatar World.

According to him, the station has been able to launch some important programmes that are capable of telling the stories of FCTA.

These programmes include The Abuja Master Plan and Abuja Morning Programme.

Responding, the Director of Information and Communication Department, FCT, Muhammad Hazat Sule, assured the delegation of his Department’s willingness to partner with critical stakeholders and Agencies in enhancing and projecting the image of the FCT Administration.

The Director also promised to consider his request and agreed to a partnership between Aso Radio and TV and Abuja Digest Newspaper.
