Gwarimpa Crisis: One Live Lost, Situation Under Control, Police Intensifies Surveillance

The FCT Command has mobilized and deployed operatives to Gwarimpa following a squabble between Hausa and Gbagyi Youths on Saturday, April 23rd, 2023 along 3rd Avenue in Gwarimpa Estate, where one live was allegedly lost.

The Acting Commissioner Of Police, DCP Ahmed Musa, has also met with Traditional Rulers of both the Hausa and Gbagyi Communities in his Office in-order to broker peace between them, and also to deliberate on possible collaboration that can keep the Youth in check and identify those formenting trouble.

The fracas between the Youths has resulted in the death of one person; while one suspect has been arrested and is currently assisting Police with investigation to ascertain the immediate and remote caused of the communal crises.

The Acting Commissioner Of Police has charged The Traditional leaders to preach peace and to consistently encourage the Youths to embrace peace and pursue approved legal channels rather than taking laws into their hands.

He said the Command has intensified surveillance patrols in the Area to monitor the situation and ensure that it does not escalate.

DCP Ahmed Musa assured well meaning residents of FCT to go about their lawful businesses and report all suspicious activities to the police via the Command Emergency lines.
