The tense atmosphere caused by a security breach by some miscreants in Ledii community of Gwagwalada Area Council has been adequately tackled by the operatives of the Anti-kidnapping Team.

The FCT Director of Security Services, Adamu Buba Gwary dropped this hint in a chat with Abuja Digest at the weekend in his office.

The Director said that the Security Agencies in the Federal Capital Territory are on top of their game; stating that any security threat will be professionally crushed.

While reacting to a report that about 3,000 people, who were displaced during an attack by kidnappers early this year in some Abaji communities have not returned home, the Director refuted the claim and urged the residents to disregard such rumor.

His words: “Though, there was a security threat but it has been neutralized since 28 of September, when our team of Anti-kidnapping was deployed to all the affected communities including Madani Tekpese, Adagba, and others and normal activities have returned, so the report about 3000 people are still displaced is not true.”

“In fact, the recent one in Ledii community in Gwagwalada Area Council has also been dealt with, immediately we got the information our men moved into action, and normalcy has returned,” he added.

Gwary further stated that all communities as well as schools in the FCT are well monitored to ensure nothing goes wrong, especially for academic activities to remain steady the schools.

To buttress this point, he said that during a meeting with the Education Secretariat and Chairman, Parent and Teachers Association, PTA, FCT chapter recently, a conference call was put to the commandant that led the operations that dealt with that security threat.

The Director assured that the operations of the Anti-kidnapping Squad in the Federal Capital Territory is wholistic, because their activities were not only limited to those communities that had experienced security challenges but extended to the borders with Niger state.

“All the forests and hills around the areas were combed inside-out in an attempt to clear all the possible hide-out of the criminals in that axis” ”, he added.

He, therefore, advised that people in the rural community across the six Area Councils of FCT to be vigilant and quickly report any suspicious movement or person to the Security Agencies.
