UN Inducts Adesola Into Volunteer Hall of Fame

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mr. Olusade Adesola, has been inducted into the United Nations Volunteer Hall of Fame as a Global Peace Ambassador in recognition of his uncommon contributions to sustainable peace.
The award was presented to him in a ceremony organized by the Nigerian Chapter of the International Organization of United Nations Volunteers (IOUNV) at Petrus Hotel, Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary emphasized the importance of peace as an instrument for economic transformation in any society.
While thanking the organizers of the event for recognizing peace as the cornerstone of any society’s advancement, Adesola called on all Nigerians to collectively work for peace and unity of the Nation irrespective of socio-cultural or political inclinations.
He appreciated the award; saying, “the honour is an indication that people are watching our little efforts and contributions to the peace and development of the country”.
According to him, “the induction into the Hall of Fame of Volunteers for the UN will strengthen me to make more impactful contributions to the nation building “.
His words: “It gives me joy for this recognition and I hope to do more in our collective efforts towards building a better Nigeria.”
He paid tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Administration for the collaboration with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) towards achieving peace in the country.
He stressed, “with the emphasize on goal 16 and 17 of the SDGs, you will identify that our country has continued to align with its values.”
Adesola enjoined new generation of civil servants to be more dedicated to duty and make sacrifices in the services to fatherland.
Earlier, the Convener of the event, Amb. Luka Jacob, said that the Adesola was chosen after a thorough monitoring process of his activities.
The award according to the Convener, qualified the Permanent Secretary as a full Ambassador and messenger of peace with the capacity to organize peace symposiums anywhere across the globe.
