COE Zuba Provost Cup Football Competition Ends After Days Of Excitement

Sports and education proved to be an excellent combination during the College of Education Zuba Provost Cup which was won by the School of Early Childhood Care and Primary Education after defeating School of Sciences by a lone goal in a thrilling final encounter.
It was a festive occasion as both academic and non-academic staff as well as students came together for the event which is an annual inter-school competition designed to foster academic excellence, leadership and sportsmanship.
The final match between the School of Early Childhood Care Education /Primary Education and the School of Sciences showcased an excellent display of skill and determination with the former emerging victorious.
This year’s event also featured a spirited contest between the academic and non – academic staff where the academic team triumphed with a lone goal in the second half of the game.
Speaking during the presentation of the championship cup, the chairman of the occasion and Director of Administration and Finance at the FCT Education Secretariat, Malam Leramoh Abdulrazaq said the competition is aimed at promoting teamwork and fostering camaraderie among staff and students.
He praised the efforts of all participating schools and Team for their determination urging the winners to be humble in victory.
Speaking earlier, the Provost it the College, Dr. Sule Mundi highlighted the importance of such events in promoting healthy competition and all round development.
In his words: “This achievement reflects the hard work and determination of the students and staff of the College.”
He commended everyone who contributed to the success of the Competition assuring that next year’s edition will be more exciting noting that the event has strengthened bonds within the institutions.
Also speaking, the Director of Sports in the College, Dr Franca ikwuka, expressed her delight and gratitude to the Provost for his support in reviving the competition and making it a reality.
She added that the competition has fostered unity, noting that the Provost Cup remains a vital tradition within the College as it encourages the spirit of collaboration and excellence.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the championship cup to the winner, School of Early Childhood Care and Primary Education as well as medals to various Teams, officials and individuals that contributed to the success of the sporting event.
Some of those presented medals include such include Malam Leramoh Abdulrazaq, the Director, Education Resource Centre, Hajiya Neemat Abdulrahim and the Director, School Sports , Malam Hashimu Adamu.
