Abuja 2019: The wise choice for business, investment in Africa -FCT Minister
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, in his 2019 New Year Message, called on residents and the global tourism and investment community to explore the blooming economic green fields of Abuja in 2019. The Minister described Abuja as the wise choice in business and tourism in the new year.
Bello gave the invitation during a message to the World Cities Tourism Federation, Beijing, during which he wished all residents of Abuja and the global investment community a very happy and prosperous New Year.
Citing the huge progress recorded in the areas of infrastructure, rail mass transit, and new Airport terminal, the Minister declared that Abuja today has become a potential mining field for investment and tourism.
He expressed his appreciation to residents for their support and partnership towards the milestones achieved by his administration in the past year. He appealed for their continued support for the Muhammadu Buhari administration in his resolve to take Nigeria to the next level.
His words, “We also use this occasion to convey our sincere appreciation to all residents for their partnership and sacrifices in all we accomplished last year. These include city infrastructure and utilities, rail mass transport, satellite towns infrastructure and rural roads, health, education and lots more, all of which were achieved under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Your efforts and hard work have made the Abuja dream a reality. Today Abuja has become a leading investment, conference and tourism destination in West Africa.”
The Minister stressed that Abuja’s strategic location in the heart of Nigeria and indeed, the heart of Africa and its rich hospitality culture and beautiful landscape has made Abuja the wise choice for business.
Bello paid tribute to the founding fathers of the Territory and enthused that Abuja today has exceeded older states as the preferred destination for investment and tourism. He expressed optimism that his administration would continue to drive towards the goal of placing Abuja among the 20 best cities in the world, in the near future.
