The Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) has a new head following the posting of Mr. Alakirawa Ularam as its overseeing Director effective May 29th, 2026.
The posting comes on the heels of the retirement of the former Director of AGIS, Mr Umar Sayyadi, who retired after 35 of service in the employ of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
The posting is expected to enhance the continued digitalization of land records as well as improve service delivery to FCT residents, as Mr. Ularam brings on board a wealth of experience as a Deputy Director and Head of ICT in the Department of Land Administration.
Additionally, many staff members have described Mr. Ularam as a hardworking, disciplined, and hands-on officer. During the official handing-over ceremony, which had in attendance the management and senior staff of both the Department of AGIS and Land Administration, Mr. Ularam pledged to sustain entrenched standards of transparency and professionalism in AGIS.
