FCT Police Rescues 58 Kidnapped Victims

The FCT Police Command has rescued 58 kidnapped victims held hostage at Udulu Forest in Gegu Local Government Area Of Kogi State, bordering Sardauna Forest, in Nasarawa State.

The FCT Commissioner Of Police, Haruna Garba, who made this disclosure, Sunday in Abuja, lauded the synergy with local Security outfits, and vowed to ensure a sustained effort in preventing further threats to safety and Security of residents.

During the raid on kidnappers in Communities contiguous to the Federal Capital Territory, there was a shootout between the the bandits and the Police team. The bandits were overpowered and escaped with various degrees of bullet injuries leaving behind their victims.

The rescue operation is part of efforts by The FCT Police Command leadership in a joint operation with other security agencies, Vigilantes and hunters from the various communities to combat violent crimes in the FCT.

The 58 rescued victims are currently receiving treatment in the Hospital , while one victim unfortunately lost his life and his body has been released to his family for burial.

CP Haruna Garba urged residents to be security conscious and to always give credible information to the Police.
