FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has called on FCT residents, especially the Muslim Ummah, to emulate the teachings of the holy prophet Muhammad (SWT).
This call was contained in the Minister’s Eid-el-Maulud message signed by him and released to the media, Monday.
The message reads in part: “This day serves not only as a profound reminder of the virtues, values, and teachings of the Holy Prophet, who embodied compassion, humility, and justice but is also an opportunity for us to come together as residents of the FCT to reaffirm our commitment to the values of tolerance, love, and kindness that he so tirelessly preached.
“The Prophet’s life offers timeless lessons in the pursuit of peace, unity, and moral excellence. As we reflect on his example, let us embrace these principles in our daily interactions, fostering harmony and understanding among the diverse communities in the FCT,” he said.
His words: “Let us imbibe the virtues of patience, tolerance, and a renewed commitment to the development of the FCT. The progress and prosperity of the FCT depends on our collective efforts. Together, we can build a society where everyone thrives in peace and security, just as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) envisioned a just and equitable society.”
The Minister, who admonished the residents to “remember the importance of empathy and the virtues of togetherness that should guide our interactions with one another”, also tasked them to pray for the country and her leaders and the well being it of her citizens.
He reaffirmed FCT Administration’s unwavering commitment to meeting her obligations to the residents, pledging: “We will continue to work hard to provide essential infrastructure and services to enhance your quality of life. Continue to be assured that we are dedicated to improving our city’s infrastructure and all other social facilities and human development.”
The Minister, while expressing appreciation to security agencies for the prevailing security and safety in the nation’s capital, urged residents to also continue contributing their quota to the overall development of the FCT and Nigerian.
