United States Major League Soccer side Inter Miami are growing increasingly confident of bringing Lionel Messi to the club and believes* they can even sign him in 2023, after the World Cup in Qatar, which is the No.10’s focus for now.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Inter Miami now expect Messi’s arrival and hope he will agree to join in the coming months.

His current PSG contract ends in summer 2023 and discussions between Messi’s camp and Inter Miami have already been going on for several years, with Inter Miami co-owners Jorge and Jose Mas leading those talks with the player’s father Jorge.

Messi had been linked with a move to an MLS franchise when he was leaving Barcelona and if he does move, he would be the most high-profile transfer into MLS in history.

However, despite the serious interest from Inter Miami, and their reported confidence in signing him, Messi still has options in Europe.

There has been talk of a romantic return to play with Barcelona again, while PSG would also like to renew him now that he has rediscovered his best form to start the 2022/23 campaign.

In any case, Messi’s future will become clearer after the World Cup, which is his focus right now.
