FCT PILGRIMS: Over 1,212 Returns To Abuja – Director

…Urges Pilgrims To Claim Their Luggage In Gwagwalada Office

The fourth batch of the FCT contingent that participated in the 2023 Muslim Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, totalling 1,212 pilgrims have returned to Nigeria as at Monday 17th July 2023. 

The FCT Director of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Abubakar Adamu Evuti, made this disclosure in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, while supervisingthe movement of the Abuja pilgrims, back into the country. 

The Director said that these 1,212 pilgrims is out of the 4,384 persons who participated in the 2023 Hajj exercise through the FCT team.

While thanking Allah for all His Mercies, he enjoined those who participated in this year’s Hajj through the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to claim their 32kg luggage at the zonal office of the Board in Gwagwalada, Abuja.

Evuti said the Board has taken measures to ensure the safety of the luggage on arrival, and, therefore, the pilgrims must present evidence of performing Hajj with the Board to collect their luggage.

He explained that the choice of the collection centrewas aimed at reviving the zonal office and utilizing it for the purpose it was meant for.

The Director advised the pilgrims to utilize the lessonslearnt from the Hajj exercise and cultivate the spirit of patience, tolerance, and forgiveness in their day-to-dayactivities at home.

Abuja Digest reports that the fourth batch of the FCT Contingent arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, through Air Peace flight APK7927 that departed Jeddah to Abuja @ 1:10hrs Saudi Arabia local time with 295 FCT pilgrims, arrived @ 5: 20 am Nigerian time.
